Ignite Volleyball Club Coaches

Chris Crosby

Club Director & 16 National Head Coach


Chris started Ignite Volleyball Club in 2015 and  continues to grow the programs' success every season. Chris has 29 years of volleyball experience as a player and coach in California, Oregon and Idaho.  Chris started his coaching career as a 14U club assistant in 1996 with former Stanford Head Coach, John Dunning.  Chris has coached youth teams at every level of high school and club.  As founder of Sisters Juniors VBC in Sisters, OR, he started a club program in 2000 that still runs today.  Chris was the varsity coach at Sisters HS and his teams qualified for the state playoffs for the 6 years in a row that he coached there.   He has coached players to numerous high school all-league and all-state awards and a number of players have gone on to college careers.  He was awarded the Capital Conference (OR) coach of the year award in 2004.  Chris is Impact Certified through USAV and has taken the CAP Level 1 training.  Chris has also coached basketball, baseball, and football here in the Treasure Valley since 2009.  He and his wife Heather and 3 kids live in Meridian.

Ryan Hofmann

Recruiting Coordinator| 18 National Head Coach

Ryan returns to the Ignite coaching staff for his 5th season.  Ryan brings 15 years of coaching experience at the college club level, high school and junior club level.  Ryan was the head coach of the Washington State Univ women’s club program for 8 years and earned a 189-39 record in his 6 seasons as part of the Pacific Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (PIVA).  He led the WSU club program to 4 league championships and the 2012-13 national championship title.  He is a two-time district coach of the year recipient as the varsity head volleyball coach at Moscow HS in Northern Idaho from 2013-2015.  Coach Hofmann has coached at 3 different clubs at the 18U, 16U and 14U national team level.  Ryan was the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach here in Boise at Capital HS from 2016-2020 and now is the Varsity Head Coach at Mountain View HS. Ryan will bring his enthusiasm and leadership to Ignite and head coach our 18National team. 

Callie Mulvihill

18 National Assistant

Callie returns to the Ignite family for her third season with the club, bringing 20 years of playing, coaching, and athletic administration experience. Prior to Ignite, she spent 4 years with Sacramento State University (DI) where she served as the NCAA compliance administrator for volleyball, beach volleyball, and 6 other teams. Prior to Sacramento State, she served in the same role with Azusa Pacific University (DII) for two years. She brings valuable experience in both recruiting regulations and collegiate expectations. Callie has also been a part of northern California's Five Starz Volleyball Club coaching staff and has assisted with numerous teams, camps, and clinics. Player development is especially important to Callie and she is excited to help her team find success both on and off the court. 

Haley Floen

17 National Head Coach

Haley returns to Ignite after a 1 year hiatus.  She has been a head and assistant coach at numerous age groups within Ignite and served as an assistant varisty coach at Centennial HS for 3 seasons 2019-2022. Haley starred at Rim of the World HS in Arrowhead, CA during her HS playing career.

SADIE NIELSEN

16 National Assistant

Sadie will join Ignite this season as the assistant coach for our 16 National team.  Sadie been coaching club for the last 6 years with stints at Columbia Basin Elite, WA (4yrs) and most recently with Sawtooth Wave for two seasons as the 18 National Head Coach. Sadie has been the assistant varsity volleyball coach at Nampa High School since 2021.  Sadie holds the 7th place record for discuss at BYU and competed on the BYU Track & Field team from 2013-2017.  2018-2019 played volleyball at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, WA while completing a master’s degree in School Counseling. 

David Coleman

15 National Head Coach

David returns for his 4th year as a Club Coach for Ignite.  Last season he was the Head Coach for the 16 National team.  He has coached Club for 10 years at all levels from 12-17U Divisions, and 4 years as the JV Coach at Orofino HS.  He is currently the JV Coach at Mountain View High School.  His playing experience primarily was outdoors on the grass and sand, but brings a solid technical approach to the indoor game through his degree in Sport Science from the University of Idaho.  He believes that coaches as well as the athletes should strive to continue to grow individually and has continued his education in completing the Art of Coaching Volleyball, Levels 1 and 2 Coaching Certifications as well as the Setter Coaching Certification. He is also certified with the Positive Coaching Alliance and NFHS.

Stephanie Simon

15 National Assistant Coach

Stephanie is in her 4th year with the Ignite program and has 7 years of coaching experience. She is the freshman head coach at Centennial HS and has coached at Camas HS and Centennial in the past 4 years. Stephanie loves being able to share her knowledge and passion for the sport that has brought her many wonderful memories and friendships. Stephanie started playing volleyball when she was eleven after watching her mom playing. She continued playing after high school as a right side/middle hitter for University of Great Falls. After that she went on to University of Idaho and played for three more years on their club team.

Jo Hardin

14National Head Coach
 
Jo returns to Ignite in 2023 after taking one year off from coaching.  Previous head coach at Meridian HS in town and former assistant with Sean Garus's staff at BSU while she was an undergrad.  Jo is one of the founding coaches at Ignite and we welcome her back for year 8!

Stacey Wong

14 Local Team Head Coach

Stacey joins Ignite as the head coach for the 14 local girls team. She was the starting libero for UCLA woman’s volleyball under coach and legend, Andy Banakowski in 2000. Stacey started her VB coaching career in 2018 coaching YMCA VB teams, then progressed to coach a 14-1s club team for the Boise Braves club team in 2021. She has a passion for coaching and mentoring kids in all aspects of volleyball, particularly developing the skills and attitude needed to play at a higher level. She has 4 daughters, 2 of which are playing VB for Ignite VBC.  

Jazmine Guydacan

13U Local Team Head Coach

Jazmine is a born and raised Boise, Idahoan. She started playing sports when she was 3 years old and hasn’t stopped since. She started playing volleyball in the 7th grade at the age of 13. She played on the Boise State University Women’s Volleyball Club team from 2020 to 2022. She currently plays on an adult women’s league recreational team in Boise. She is heading into her third season of being the Head Freshmen Volleyball Coach at Mountain View High School in Meridian. Last year she led her team to end the season as the 2022 5A Freshmen District Champions. Jazmine is also heading into her second season of coaching club volleyball. “Coaching volleyball is more than just helping athletes progress their skills today, but rather an opportunity to help build the leaders of tomorrow!”

Chris Boaz

Training coach at large

Chris is excited to join the Ignite family and brings with him 22 years of playing and coaching experience. Chris played at Valhalla High School where he was a member of the 2001 CIF Championship program as well as 2002 and 2003 League Champions.  Chris is a native of San Diego where he coached both girls and guys volleyball.  He coached at Club Pacific for 10 years including the last 3 as the Director of Recruitment and multiple high schools winning one CIF championship and making several appearances in the state semi-finals.  Chris’ coaching style is best summed up by preparing players to be proactive rather than reactive.  Chris, his wife Katie, and their two dogs live in Caldwell.

Kevin Sathre

Coach of coaches

Kevin returns for his 3rd year coaching for Ignite. He brings over 29 years of coaching and playing experience to our staff.  Kevin has coached at Ignite since 2020 and prior to that he coached at Legacy VBC in Santa Clarita, CA for 10 years in various age groups as a head and assistant coach.  He has coached club on the girls and boys side since the mid 90's and has 4 top 10 National finishes as a boys coach with one National Championship as part of the Synergy Boys VBC as an assistant to Walt Ker in 2003-2004.  Kevin and his family have recently moved to Eagle, ID in 2020. We appreciate Kevin's knowledge and great character as part of our coaching staff.
